All courses at SpanishFluent are private, one-on-one sessions with Gabriela at the same price of $50 per session. The difference is the focus: Private 1-on-1 is fully flexible and adapts to any goal; Business Spanish targets professional communication for executives; Spanish for Travelers focuses on Costa Rican culture and real-world situations; Teens & Kids is structured for younger learners with age-appropriate activities. All four use the same native-level instruction.
Yes, at any time. Since all sessions are personalized, it is easy to shift the focus of your lessons. A student who starts with the Travelers course can transition to general fluency or Business Spanish as their goals evolve. Just let Gabriela know what you need and the lesson plan will adapt accordingly.
Yes. All private sessions at SpanishFluent — regardless of course type — cost $50 per session. There are no premium tiers, no hidden fees, and no subscription costs. You book and pay per lesson, one at a time.
It depends entirely on your goals. Travelers heading to Costa Rica in a month can see meaningful results in just 4 to 6 sessions. Executives building long-term professional fluency typically commit to one or two sessions per week over several months. Students aiming for full fluency may continue for a year or more. There is no required number — you decide based on your own progress and goals.
Currently all SpanishFluent courses are private, one-on-one sessions. This is a deliberate choice — group classes require a fixed curriculum that cannot adapt to each student’s needs, and they rarely produce the same results as private instruction. If you have a specific situation — for example, a small team at a company that needs Spanish training — contact Gabriela directly at gabriela@spanishfluent.com to discuss options.
Every first lesson is effectively a trial. There is no minimum commitment — you book one session, experience the teaching approach firsthand, and decide whether to continue. Gabriela also takes a few minutes before the first lesson to understand your goals and design your lesson plan, at no extra cost. Most new students book their second session before the first one ends.
The book is not required, but it is strongly recommended. Tico Talk covers 101 essential Costa Rican Spanish words and phrases with pronunciation, examples, and real conversations — exactly the material covered in the Travelers course. Students who have read the book arrive at their first lesson already familiar with the vocabulary and can progress much faster. At $4.99 on Amazon Kindle, it is one of the best investments you can make before your first session.
